Finescale track meets the demands of enthusiasts who wish to operate trains on scale height rail. Since the clearance between the top of the rail and the fixings is only 1.346mm (.053in) wheels having flanges no greater than 1.143mm (.045in) deep or less can only be used. Most manufacturers currently produce items with suitable wheels. Back to back dimensions are also important and may vary.
